THE SURVIVALIST receives 4 IFTA Nominations

THE SURVIVALIST has been nominated in 4 nominations from the IFTA awards (Irish Film and Television Academy). These include Best Film, Best Director (Stephen Fingleton), Best Actor (Martin McCann) & Best Supporting Actress (Olwen Fouére). The film will be competing against Oscar nominated films such as Lenny Abrahamson’s ROOM and John Crowley’s BROOKLYN. Liam Neeson will received an honorary achievement award at the ceremony. A full list of nominations is here.

The nomination marks Olwen Fouére’s first film award nomination. While a hugely established theatre actress, Olwen is a relative newcomer to the screen and the nomination is a tremendous achievement. McCann has previously won an IFTA award for Swansong: Story of Occi Byrne.

The IFTA Award ceremony is being held on April 9th at Mansion House in Dublin, and will be televised live on TV3.
